U.S. Flag Shipping

Meeting the Stringent Requirements of U.S. Flag Shipping

GTS’ Ocean department is highly experienced and knowledgeable in moving U.S. Flag impelled cargo. Shipments primarily move inside carrier-owned standard, dry containers, but GTS has vast experience in handling special equipment, including in gauge and out of gauge flat rack containers, open top containers, and shipper owned containers.

GTS’ capabilities also include U.S. Flag service via roll on roll off (ro/ro) vessels for vehicles and heavy rolling stock, such as large trucks or heavy machinery.

Project (break-bulk) cargo is available for most destinations worldwide. Break-bulk vessels accommodate overweight cargo in large volume while fulfilling the U.S. Flag service requirement.

In the event that U.S. Flag service is not available, foreign flag service is available to worldwide destinations pending on foreign flag waiver authorization. Foreign flag waivers are available when the U.S. Flag is not cost prohibitive or the transit time does not comply with the required delivery date (RDD).

Our experience is not limited to specific commodities, as we have handled hazardous materials, temperature controlled cargo, perishable cargo, USAID project cargo, humanitarian relief cargo, embassy supplies, reconstruction projects abroad, U.S. Military shipments, and the DOD personal effects market. U.S. Government agencies and government contractors rely on GTS to handle their U.S. Flag impelled cargo because of our strong service and performance to worldwide destinations.
